The iNFINITY was designed as an answer to the lack of a South African cassette culture - an experimental/industrial/collage/techno/electronic/hardcore/musique concrete experience on the edge of a post-emergency state EIN001 ----- this comp has sold out EIN002 ------ this comp also sold out EIN003 ------ DFDGO - Dead Fish Don't Grow Old : more wierd ambient soundscapes from the dizedents of DFDGO: 60 minutes of pure electronic bliss- welcome to the 7 beats a minute club EIN004 ----- Amorphous Picknick - TechnoFetish : Amorphous Picknick take over the Techno Genre and turn it on it's head, but can you dance to it ? Substituting vocals for drum beats and synthetic whooshes for vocals and drumbeats for background noises and ..... who knows what these people did to techno but it kicks ass and you can dance to it ... only for the brave: 90 minutes of experimental Techno. EIN005 --- Tech|O|stacY - Technicians of Ecstacy - TOY beat, blow, and suck their way into your mind, empty it of any self organising dalanda patterns in a fusion of Techno and inudstrial beats which sounds like the A-Train pulling into Germiston station: 90 minutes of hardcore techno which pulses with the rythms of ancient Egypt. EIN006 ----- Amorphous Picknick - Aborted Themes to the Blood & Guts Soundtrack: Amorphous Picknick designed a soundtrack to Kathy Acker's Blood & Guts which was put on at the Rhodes Drama Department. Sludgy epics of indutrial sounds which are reminiscient of those science fictions movies where the hero eats the lead female or when aliens land in your backyard and devour the neighbours: 90 minutes of sound structures which will scare you into never leaving home again. Would have made an excellent soundtrack for Tetsuo (both of them shown simultaniously on top of each other). EIN007 ----- DFDGO - C:R:O:S:S - Die for mankind sins in comfort with DFDGO's C:R:O:S:S more ambient sounds from DFDGO. Their second album shows more maturity than their first album and there are even some beats!! not many but some. I think that this album was origionally meant for meditation by giant lizards from Maelba: 60 minutes of sounds which will cleanse your ears and feed your head. EIN008 ----- Amorphous Picknick - Collapsing New People: the third album from this exeprimental trio and their sound has changed yet again. This album ranges from the wierd wall of sound of the opening track to the 3 minute riccochet of CLASS which is a digital puree of Pictures at an Exhibition (reminiscient of John Oswalds _Plunderphonics_). Contains the classic shotgun opera demo. This album is the finest experimental album that South Africa has to offer. 90 minutes which will change your conceptions of music forever. EIN009 ------ Tech|O|stacY - Heat Seeking Cuts: More experimental Techno from these (de)constructionist, this time playing with our sense of timing and our attitude to what constitutes a beat: 90 minutes of Ferocious techno at its most experimental, yeah but, can you dance to it? EIN010 --- TrustOBey - Pain: A Mexican Toture Tech Band hailing from the deprived (of everything) city of Grahamstown. Sampling the sounds of 'everyday' fetishist pursuits like the crack of a whip, the rattle of handcuffs and transforming them into operas of deprivation: 60 minutes of musique concrete which will have you flinching in your leather bodysuit, comes with a 20 page booklet which would be disturbing if we weren't inured to such images. all tapes are recorded on CrO2 and are available from the iNFINITY LABEL 48a Bathurst St Grahamstown 6140 All tapes are R15-00/$3-50/#2 price includes postage and packaging (postage is by Surface Mail outside of South Africa - add $0-50/#0-50 for AirMail)
